Oil pressure??
I’ve installed some Prosport gauges today and just wanted to know, is it normal for the oil pressure to be over 100 psi (gauged maxed out) on start up?

Completely normal mate and once fully warm you should see around 35-45 psi at 85-90'c oil temp depending on standard or uprated oil pump and engine mileage.

Yes, as long as it drops to around 85(ish) when the oils warm and thinner. even this depends on the type of oil used.
Mine was something similar on a cold start.

My car idles at around 3 - 4 bar and runs at 6.3 bar while driving,
sees near on 7.5 bar when cold.

I saw 10 bar on my old Blitz gauges and immediately took it to Enginetuner. They found a stuck valve (something like oil release valve) causing the high pressure.
Most of the time mine runs around 8 bar cold, 5-6 bar warm and 3 bar at idle.

Just to confirm, that's idle pressure. Also dependant upon viscosity of the oil being used.

110 cold idle
90 steady driving but goes up a bit on load
50 on warm idle.
Sits at about 90'c all the time.

yeah it does move with the revs, i mean idle is 35psi and running is 90psi so it has to move up that far as you pull away.

+1,oil viscosity will alter the idle pressure some what but as long as the reading is there abouts it's alright.

Just wondering, I thought when the oil is warm it gets thicker?
Or is it one of them smack your hand on your forehead moments?

mine does that but then mirror's the rev counter ish when warm, in drops to 1 bar on idle,
Got me thinking going to have to watch it now.
I'm paranoid enough about it having spent rather alot rebuilding it now i'm going to be like morgan freeman on acid watching a horror movie..

Ok, been out in mine today, just above 2 bar at idle when cold, 6/7 when driving cold then between 4 and 5 normal driving when warm but did notice it dipping up and down dependant on the revs went as low as 2 and a half.
Not sure what it's doing when i give it some beans as i'm too busy piloting the rocket ship

idle Cold should be around 6 Bar+
2 Bar idle is usually when warmed up.

2 bar idle when cold is a problem lol.
i got about 2bar or 2.3bar idling when hot!
around 6 to 6.5 bar on cold idle and around 4-5 bar on driving normally

2 bar at idle really isn't good fella. Check your gauge is good, maybe the sender is faulty. I had a faulty sender and was getting some crazy readings.

Ok i think i'm a bit ar$e about t1t on my previous post.
when first started it is about 6.5 bar and like you 4-5 mid revs and as the revs drop further so does the needle, then at hot idle 1.2 / 1.3 bar.
It is a forged type r with shorter ratios so not sure if this makes a difference.

1.2/1.3 bar pressure at warm/hot idle is still bordering low,too low id say, anything below 1.5 id start to think hmmmm
maybe a gauge thing,or oil grade, maybe replace oil if old,so dont panic yet LOL,just keep an eye on it/ear out etc

Using motul at the moment and the oil is fresh, all sounds well and she's done 2000 miles in the last week or so.
Wish i never fitted the bloody things now, something else to make me even more paranoid about this car
