Got mine done on Monday. Really sets the side of the car off.
Excellent job by Glenrothes Accident Repair Centre.
Can recommend them for anyone in East of Scotland.
They got rid of various scrapes on front lip spoiler and colour coded the side protection strips all in £200 +vat

Are these side strips Prodrive sanctioned? After all, you have the best impreza's ever made, and upsetting the delicate balance and the centre of gravity may well ruin the car's ultimate handling.

Will they void your warranty because of the change in COG?

How much has your insurance gone up to cover the extra risk?

These sound a great idea. I'll have to try & get some then.

It's the b****y front spoiler that I have difficulty in keeping off the ground in these 'ere parts in the country. Been re-sprayed underneathe once already - 3 weeks old !!

Thumbs down

Am I right in saying that these are slightly flexible. does this mean that they will flex and crack when they are hit or with temperature variation?

If the weather improves up here at the weekend I will take some pictures.

Arron

You are right, for the cost of the strips Prodrive should have put them on as standard.

Fizz

Don't know yet, temperature doesn't change much up here yet. But the Repair centre said that they were a bit floppy when they took them out the oven.
Think they must have been having their dinner!!

Mind you, girlfriend says that about me!

Cheers Steve, those side strips look the biz. Which dealer did them for you? Did they do anything special to get them colour coded?

Stefan

Nothing special done, I had a few scrapes on the front spoiler and so I arranged to get them done and the side protectors at the same time. The photo doesn't do them justice, they look like they've always been on the car, and the little Subaru wording sets them off a treat.

I didn't use a dealer as my nearest is 25 miles away, I used Glenrothes Accident Repair Centre in Glenrothes Fife. They did some work for me before when I had a MY00 DBM 4 door. They were excellent then, and they have done a great job on the P1.

The only comment from them to my girlfriend was that the side strips were a bit tricky to fit to the car after they had come out of the oven.

Steve

Charlie, they don't fit the 4-door but Subaru do a version that is for the 4-door - it's not as sexy but it beats dents and scrapes on the side of your car!!!!!

Got mine from Cheam Motors, they were about £45 the pair, they are a Subaru part. They do ones for 4 doors too. The come in black so you can stick them on like that if you want. Otherwise you can get them colour coded like mine by a body shop.

Got them to ward off the supermarket trolleys and ar$eholes in car parks.

Cool

The 4 door strips have the wording 'impreza'
and don't look too bad.
I've just obtained a set from Holland (thanks Nick) with the WRC logo on which look that bit better. Will be fitting this W/E with white spirit/hairdryer etc!!!!
All for under £50 which will be the minimum for only 1 of the inevitable dents being removed.
