Default One of my pals fancies an Impreza! What do you giys think of this one??

Hi all,

One of best mates is thinking about getting an Impreza - his reasoning being that he wanted something fun and 4wd. He's used to running a 10 yr old XKR, so the running costs shouldn't worry him too much!

He fancies this 2006 WRX, described as a "Prodrive".

What do you guys think of it? Price is high, but the 23k miles appeals to him. Spoiler looks non standard. Not sure if it's a true PPP - any way to tell if there're no certificate (other than it being quicker)? From the Prodrive site, it's not clear if the springs are included in the PPP pack. Anybody know? Does that BBox look Prodrive?

My mates criteria are " A UK car under £10,000, 2006 or later, low mileage and low level spoiler"! He doesn't fancy travelling outside Scotland. I have suggested a Spec D might fit the bill, although for the same price it'll have more miles.

cheers,

Andy

STI Spec D would be my first choice if you want quick and subtle.

The exhaust looks like a prodrive job.

Cheers guys. Anybody recognise the rear spoiler and front lip?

Can we tell it's a PPP if there's no certificate?

A friend of mine had a very similar car which was PPP for sure from the original dealer. It had the very same rear wing, Prodrive exhaust and had the Prodrive turbo to intercooler hose. Chances are, if it has the hose and other items, the ecu will have been done at the same time by the dealer. Probably best to find out where it was originally purchased by looking in the service book and check with them to be 100%.

presume he realises its in the £400+ tax bracket? though from what you say an extra £200 ish tax a year wont break the bank.

Cheers mate. Do you know what colour that intercooler hose is? Or does it have "Prodrive" stamped on it?

Also, does PPP include springs normally?

I'll mention it, but the tax won't compare with the overall running costs of a supercharged Jag!

Yup, that's what I have (well, a Litchfield Type 20), but he only fancies a UK car.

PPP does not include springs. The spoiler looks like the Prodrive item from the UK300
Intercooler hose is dark blue with Prodrive embossed in white.
There should be a silver sticker at the bottom of the B pillar, drivers side to suggest you should declare the PPP to your insurance company.
If you phone Subaru with the car's, chassis number they should be able to tell you if the PPP is fitted
