V5 engine to fit v4

Default V5 engine to fit v4

Hi all I have a 98 v4 terzo I have killed the engine due to nitrous I have got a v5 engine that I have tried to fit but the wiring will not fit the v5 is there a way to mod this if any one knows or has done this any help would be good cheers lee

no easy way im afraid, the one thing you can do is use the heads from your old engine and fit them to your new block as the v5 engine has completely different heads/inlet manifold amongst other things.

Cheers for that I thought it not be easy my heads on my v4 were cooked is there any way to mod the inlet

no there wider from memory and the bolt holes are different.

Yep, any heads fit any block AFAIK, so v.4 STi heads is the no hassle option - also freer revving (better cams) than the "WRX" spec ones of the Terzo.

That way you can use all your existing Terzo's inlet manifold/ancillaries and, importantly, not have to phaff about with splicing the differing MY98 and MY99 wiring looms together! Do it - best option... Then just flog on the surplus-to-requirements v.5 heads.

Also, keeping with the same MY heads as the block means that you're also not altering the compression ratio, so a set of the metal OEM 1.6mm STi v.1-4 HGs will keep the correct C.R. - no phaffing about, etc...

thats what i did. sti v8 block, with sti v4 heads.
worked great.

that will be sold this weekend
still.
