something needs to be done about the wanted ads section!!!

im fed up with paying members putting up ads for wanted parts and then once someone replys with your part you really need, some sneeky CUUUUNTS pm them in private and by the said item!!!!

this is happening to me alot now and im fuuckedd off with it

 

Maybe we could have each thread "reply by PM only"?

That's what happens on the model railway boards I go on.

I agree in theory, but am i right in saying you need to be a paying member to comment on posts in the marketplace section too?

Not everyone is going to pay just to post back to a for sale or wanted thread, it comes down to first come first served, just a little unlucky at some times.

yes you have too be a paying member to post. but whats happening is NON paying members are messaging the person who replies in private and buys the item before the person who puts the post up has the chance too!!!

 

OK, then the only way to solve the problem would be to make the Marketplace non-viewable to non-paying members, but i cant see that going down very well :/

 

I suggested that and it didn't go down well. There are far too many cheeky scammers on here exploiting the system by using the private messaging system

 

surely thats the way it should be because otherwise non paying members are just getting around the system!!!

i think the reason that didnt go down to well is its too stop scams. which is still a good idea.

but this is just so paying members get the advantages of the site over non paying members who just "USE" the site

Replies and PM's have times on them, so first come, first served.

 

thats correct but what if the first reply is not from the poster its from a non paying member watching the post?

 

I don't think you'll get any joy from IB o0n it, they see themselves as just a medium and so long as the money keeps roling in, are happy.

Cause thats how its become, we are better cause we pay.No,you pay to sell thats all - what benefit is there to a payed to non payer apart from selling/buying

If the seller chooses to sell to a non payer,thats their lookout,if a seller wants to sell for x amount to a payer than for Y amount to non payer,their loss

 

i would say it,s bad of the seller as you should at least get 1st dibs

If it didnt exist,then so beit, we all survived when it didnt exist !
If advertising brought in the reddies to only allow x amount of speed and x amount of useage etc then again,i`d put up with it,as we did many yrs ago.

On the topic of spares,i have loads of stuff to sell,but its members who lose out as i use other means to sell and it often goes for more than id of taken cash offer on the stuff.swings n roundabouts n all that
