I'm very new to this forum and to subaru cars at all so i have a question and will be very happy if you can help me.
I have peugeot 106 1.6 16v turbo with TD04 turbo from impreza wrx wagon.
I bought it form ebay and the seller was announced that the turbo is from wrx wagon from 92 to 97 year.
My questin is what specification of TD04 is my turbo ? I mean 13g 13t.... And of what horse power is it capeble? On the compressor side of the turbo it says only TD04 with many numbers after that. Also the turbo is with the 90 degree inlet if that helps. Thanks!!!

I think the comp wheel IS a 13g, yes.

The TD04L is good for <280bhp on a the Subaru 2.0l.

Also on 1600cc engine on 1bar should i have pressure drop at 7500 rpm ? I mean will it hold this pressure at high rpm's ?
Because at the moment i have problem at 0.5...the car makes 0.5bar at 2500 rpm and then at 5000 in drops to 0.3

Wonder what it would make on the 106?

 

So on the 1.6 engine it should make same horse power as on the 2.0 right ?
Also what is the difference between 13g at 13t in terms of size and cfm ?

Most make around 270-280. Sometimes you get lucky with the supp. mods and it may make more; sometime less (as with all turbos' quoted max figures.)

 

Some guys on Starlet running TD04 and producing from 211-280BHP,these turbo can run 1.3bar(i've run TD04 on 1.3bar and make with FMIC and other mods 275bhp )
I'm pretty sure you will need on Peugeot at least turbo manifold and other parts(i've seen on Saxo VTS these kits,but £2.5k is too much)

They will drop in pressure at higher rev range, as these turbos are really good, for low end.

This is why i opted for a TD04 Hybrid, to give me low end power over top end. Its all about getting off the line, wink wink.

But that is a bit low, as sounds like its on wastegate pressure.

 

Yes it's on westgate... I'm still in what boost control to buy - mechanical or electronic

 

Manual ok if set up right but, not the best, and if set in summer will be different in winter, and can over boost.

Electronic ones are good. As you can control more, depending on which one of course.

The wagon had a TD04 13G and generally could produce around 260 bhp 93-96, 270bhp 97-98 and some of the last classics were good to over 285 bhp. top performing New Age are close to 300bhp.
Boost, not a lot of point going beyond 1.4 bar or thereabouts. All you do is create heat.
On a Subaru this turbo drops off on boost from 5k-5.5k onwards and quite dramatically. Red line 7k but no point going there either.
You have a lot of work to do creating manifold, uppipe and downpipe if someone has not already done a conversion.
You can tighten up the wastegate to see what happens or test it with a Mitivac. I would guess the standard setting will crack around .6bar.
The TD03.5 may be a better starting point because of your smaller capacity.
