Question 6 speed Impreza's - in 6th gear whats you mph?

I want to know what speeds other Scoobs pref (bugs) are producing to see if mine is the same? mine in 6th gear at 2250rpm does 50mph & at 3250rpm 70mph - are these similar to yours?

I get 2500 @ 60 mph in 6th, on a JDM blob with facelift, with 500rpm/10mph increments after that (3000@70mph, etc).

I did notice that the pre-facelife blob eye 6 speed box was very slightly shorter; when I had one for a week on loan; which could be the same as the ones on bugeyes.

The ratios for the JDM 6 speed box have not changed since they first introduced it in the bugeye AFAIK, the slightly shorter gearing might be due to a difference in tyre size.

i have 18's on mine.. does bhp effect the different amount of revs doing & speeds achieved? or is this all gears & wheels only? also does new/old clutches effect speed too?

No and no, although more BHP might give you a higher top speed. The gear ratio decides on how fast the car will go at certain engine revs.

Think of it like a bike gears: you can only pedal so fast. In a high gear the bike will go fast, (high mph/1000rpm). The stronger you are, (higher bhp) the faster you can pedal.

Worryingly that gives me a theoretical top speed of 200 mph... @ 7500 rpm

LOL
