Default castrol gtx magnatec

was thinking of buying some magnatec fully synthetic, whats everyones opinion on this oil,as halfords do there own brand of fully synthetic for 41 pound and at the moment magnatec is only 25.99.is there any other synthetic in the 30 pound price range thats just as good or better.

We've go the Gulf Competition on offer at the moment for £29.99 to Scoobynet members

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-971-gulf-competition.aspx

That is a way better oil than GTX (which is actually a very basic oil) and Magnatec, it's as good as the Millers CFS or Fuchs Pro S, it's an ester based full synthetic. We got offered a deal by Gulf so we're passing the discount on.

We've said it on here several times before, the Halfords own brand oils are pretty low quality.

Cheers

Tim

The Magnatec will be fine, however in a high performance turbo car used hard it would not be my choice.

Cheers

Guy.

They do but they won't for long as they have annoyed the oil manufacturers by undervaluing the oils

We'll beat their price anyway, so no real point in advertising them. We've got a pricebeater guarantee, so for any online delivered price, we'll beat them. Can't always do it for local pick up, but ask and we can try.

Cheers

None of the Magnatecs are a true synthetic, top ones are a group III hydrocracked synthetic (mineral base). For the true synthetics you need to move up to the edge range.
