Default New transponder

Hi all

I have had to get a new key made up for my car, I have a couple of questions about the transponder in the key.

Does anyone know what type of transponder I need for my 2001 bug eye?

If I order a new transponder from a website how can I pair it to the car? Is this something I can do myself? I have an OBD 2 cable if that is needed? I have a 5 digit number written in the book that is labelled key code? It is possible this is related to the toad alarm I'm not sure.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks

You can't synchronise the new transponder(s) to the car yourself. Subaru dealer or Ecutek agent can do it for you.

If the code you're referring to is written in the owner's manual (or service record), it should be the replacement number for the physical key.

As for the transponder type, I'm sure I have a note of that somewhere but can't find it at the mo. Will have a look @ work tomorrow and post it up here - assuming nobody else has got there first.
