Cool Impreza STi 2010 exhaust note needs attention - what can i do

Hi all - just registered and my first post so please go gentle with me

Ok - I have a impreza STi 2010 (not the new spec C)

I am not a hooligan but I find the lack of soundtrack from the exhaust disapointing and to be honest with the short gearing it makes it diffucult to hear when a gear change is needed especially when listening to music - so I was considering replacing the rear exhaust

1. I dont wanna go boy racer loud just a subtle sound would be good
2. I want to keep the 4 pipes to keep it looking standard

what are the options?

Thanks in advance

Cleggy

as far as im ware Clegg only the 330s had the burble.

So if you need that sound look at trying to get the 330R pack of which i think i say i think gives u it back.

I have the 2011 saloon ( fack knows why its called 2011 its still 2010 ) it has the burble back, BUT not as prominent as the hawks of old when your house shook as it went past.

Subaru removed this sound as it was percieved as chavvy and as youll understand they now want a more concervative look hence the 2011 look to try win more clients.

just natural progession i think

Look - if you want to keep your warranty then you must stick with Subaru's offerings.
Check with your dealer on exhaust options.
But I suspect that with the new cars there won't be much available in Prodrives absence.

Cosworth options - who knows.

Keep an eye out for a PPP exhaust secondhand, this is what the 330R uses and along with a deres centre pipe will realease a little noise.

Here are a few vids I have taken with various options, hope they help

As for warranty, as long as its standard when you take it to the dealers then should be ok.

Thanks
A

As Arron says..the 330s exhaust gives a much nicer burble without being over loud.... look for a 2nd hand one...ask Iain Litchfield? That's where I got mine from.

As for warranty, as long as it's a Subaru part you'll be fine.

Chcek out

The revolution 247 cat back exhaust is very good. Made by Jettex apparently. It could do with being a bit louder in my opinion. Looks better as the tail pipes can be adjusted to exit clear of the back of the vehicle not underneath it and the pipes are rolled so look thicker. Check out you tube for videos of different exhausts.

Subaru did offer a replacement backbox for 2008 onwards as an option, about £350. To get a pro drive box off of Subaru new is about £900

Hi,

Have a listen to our systems, either 2.5" bore or 3" bore....

www.Cobrasport.com Loads of tailpipe options and you can hear the exhaust in action!

Many Thanks

Pete

I have a 330s and even with the PPP its reserved by historical standards, but does bring back the burble and gives a nicer sound through the rev range.

Which way you go tho' will depend on how much you want to risk your warranty!!
