is it worth waiting for a ppp Subaru
if i was to buy a wrx sti instead of a wrx sti ppp what would i have to buy to get it to around the same or more than the ppp ?? and how much would it cost or is it just better to hold out for a ppp also is it had to fit the stuuf your self ?? thanks
get a standard sti. you can fit the prodrive sports/high flow catted downpipe off a ppp model like i did,any aftermarket exhasut system from that cat back, fit a uprated fuel pump like i did, then a custom map like i did and you will be at 320/330 bhp and similar torque on the vf35 turbo. unless the ppp is the same price, i would get the standard sti.

Finding good used parts and a remap is likely to cost about £1000, could do for less with an open ecu tune rather than ecutek, possible couple of hundred less, all you need is a new walbo pump about £70, used ppp downpipe and decat pipe about £200, a ppp backbox about £100, good panelfilter about £30 and a remap £250-£600, dependant upon which way you go.

It was only the MY02's that needed an uprated fuel pump, all the rest are ok
I would be looking at an MY05 car (the one with the flare over the rear arches) which has the A-DCCD and wider track (114.3pcd wheels) as these are a better handling car.

I have a wide track 55 plate STi with PPP and love it. No plans whatsoever to have it mapped etc. All depends on what you want from the car? If modding is your thing then get a non PPP. If you're like me and want what was available at the time the yes, get a PPP car.
when i was looking for a blob sti, i got a ppp one didnt really cost anymore the reason i went for it over others was it had 18"" pp7 prodrive wheels on it. not sure whether thats part of the ppp but i changed the prodrive exhaust on mine to a miltek and put a green panel filter in. only mods mine has and after a remap made over 330 bhp and tuner said it was helped by the fact the ppp has an uprated fuel pump and sport cat. plus i sold exhaust on ebay for £150.
so if your going to mildly tune it probably worth it in long run.
