Default New-age Jdm sti vs sti spec c

I have a Jdm sti 2003 model and was thinking if it would be worth getting a sti spec c? I found out alot of info on them and there is not much different about them at all. If anyone has anymore info or has a spec c, I would like to hear their views.
Cheers

Not much different MY year for MY year the Spec C has a far better spec albeit as the years go by the JDM STi became more like the Spec C (or was it the other way round ). Hawkeye STi not much different from Hawkeye Spec C.

There was a good thread on this subject a while back which I'll try to find for you.

TX.

From what you have now I would only trade up to an MY05 onwards spec c, there is a difference but really I doubt you would notice it that much.

I have driven the 2003 Spec 'C' and then I bought the 2003 JDM STi with the creature comforts

The best I can describe the difference is the STi performance is like the Spec 'C' with a passenger (stands to reason as it's 70kg lighter).

The performance is not like night and day at all it is far less suttle and in truth would only be found out on a track.

It is liek night and day depending on your driving. If you was to take it on a track or do a lot of fast b roads it would spank a standard JDM sti. If your just driving about town and long journeys then as Spenn said it's like having a passenger with you all the time

Most of that was rectified on the MY05 JDM cars where they brought alot of it into line across the range, hence there is no real benefit of selling an MY03 JDM STI for 8-9k and then buying an MY03 Spec C for 13-14k when that money gets you a MY05 JDM STI with change

The only "true" Spec C was the MY03 Spec C Type RA like mine (which really are like rocking horse ****). The other version's are watered down wannabe's. Electric windows, mirror's and air-con.... bah!

Out of the box the only better one imo is the RA-R over a Type RA, for a ***** out machine. The best compromise of comfort and being ***** out is the S204.

I Have never seen rocking horse **** shaun but I have seen your car so it cant be that rare and as for comfort I like my electric windows/air con and in your hands it was beaten on quite a few ocassions last year by a watered down wannabe will be nice to meet up this year again, rust and old age are starting to get in the joints and my reactions are all slowed up so much so the car hasnt been out of the garage since the final last year

roflol @ Gussy.

The driver is key.... John Felstead proved that as he trounced you and I in a 360bhp MY05 JDM STi! But then we all know that one, as Simon showed driving my car and winning the Final round.

If you want comfort get a limo!

Yes... it has the sound deadening under the bonnet. Even with that rug, it is still the lightest Spec C. Shall I take it off and save myself another 4 grammes?

I take my hat off to John what he did with his car at that round was astounding vast experiance counts and yes I tried but to no availe. As for Simon well thats another story mind you it would have been intresting to see how close he could have got to John had he had a go in mine, and yes the driver is the key as proved at round 3 when I lent sc400 my car and he beat my time that day which cost me points in the championship.

Thanks for all the info guys. I have got my jdm sti running 360bhp-360flbs. just thought getting a My05-My06 jdm sti or spec c might be better e.g. (oil coolers. anti surge tank etc on spec c or the wider rear track etc on the jdm sti)

You get the wider track on the MY05 cars, plus all the added yaw sensors which you dont get on the earlier DCCD cars.

So theres not that much differents then Tony. But I dont think it would be worth selling my03 jdm sti for an my05-my06 jdm sti. Would it?

That would be a better option if you like the luxuries, and you get it for several k less than the cost of the spec c
