Default Spec c RA-R .........VF42

If i go for bigger injectors 3" exhaust and a remap what's the max power and torque i can get?

Am in two minds as to go for one of litcho's new turbo's but if i can get 400 then there not much point for an extra 20bhp.

Immy

360 bhp / 400ft/lbs torque maximum IMO, with uprated actuator. Figures based on e.g. Dyno Dynamics Rollers

Bearing in mind 400ft/b torque will require uprated clutch too as I soon discovered

Surely a vf42 will get more than 360bhp? that just seems normal twin scroll territory ?

Not enough data on the VF42 to give a definite answer. You'll have to suck it and see.

You might be right Steve as its bigger than a VF36/37 which maxes out at approx 350bhp.

Ima,
My old twinscroll hybrid was better than a VF42 and that achieved just over 375bhp. However, that was running a thick wedge of boost for what it was, 1.7bar iirc. If I were you, I would go for the Litcho turbo and be done with it..... the 440bhp one.

I had some comparison data years ago and my hybrid murdered the VF42 on lowdown grunt.

See attachment. My hybrid is the higher line and both turbos at the same boost. Top end was roughly the same on both (my hybrid was slightly more).

How did you get a hold of a VF42, nice one! I have a hybrid turbo waiting to go on mine this year, i'd be happy with that graph.

Next you'll be telling him not to exceed 3000 RPM.

Nice one for the info Shaun was the vf42 run on your car or was it on a S204/RA-R when you did the comparsion?

I can understand the higher torque on your hybrid as the vf42 does tend to kick in later but pulls all the way to red line as opposrd to the vf37.

By the looks of the graph does the bybrid tale of before the vf42?

I think you've mistaken me for SSU

TX.

Edit - don't really mind what he does good for me in the end as the RA-R will be mine one day OH YES!

I've got a VF41.

2 Litre Scoob.

305 BHP, 290 Ilb a foot, @ 1.25 Bar.

I;m not sure about the VF42, I would have thought it was better than the 41?

VF41 is from a legacy isn't it? Different turbo completely.

Nah, it's from a Forester.

I thought VF41____VF42 next number up, must be better.
