I am trying to get a copy of the original sales receipt for my Impreza Turbo from the dealer in Belgium. The dealer says they can't give me a copy because it shows the price and says I need to get the receipt from the company that imported the car. Trouble is that company seems to no longer be trading.
What can I do?
I have bought the car second hand and the previous owner says he doesn't have a copy of the receipt or the certificate of conformity and I would like to register the car with Subaru to use the rest of the remaining warranty.

Any thoughts,
Regards
Steve

Why don't you ask the dealer in belgium (nicely) if he'll give you a copy but delete the price? You don't really need that info to get your warranty. Then, you can just explain that to subaru UK.

I've tried to ask for it without the price on. Still won't do it.

The broker was called Elect Communications, a chap called Ian Collier. I check the company name out with companies house and it does exist and its business is car sales. I even have a phone number but nobody is answering.

Very Frustrating!!!

The car was registered in October 2000 but Lancaster Pangboune tell me that if I register the car with Subaru (which requires the V5, receipt and C of C) then I can use the remainder of the 3 year warranty.

Ask the dealer in belgium to fax the invoice direct to IM, this is what I had to do (a little frustating), I actually found the lady at IM most helpful.

Do you know who at IM you spoke to?
What do IM need to "register" the car?

Thanks
Steve

They need your reciept of purchase and log V5 book.

Call IM and ask to speak to Ms Napier, she is very helpful.
