has anyone got a link to some sort of guide as to how these are fitted on a v7 sti also will the pipework from my vf34 fit onto the 20g thanx guys

 

be fine mate straight swap, i found mine laggy with a 20g and had loads of mods mapped etc though.

 

Mate you'll need the coolant pipes, and I'm sure the banjo bolt for the oil feed is different size, the akward bit is aligning the oil return pipe back on, There is a breather I think on top of the gearbox that needs a little gentle adjustment as the turbo presses against it. Not a bad job, I'd leave at least 3hrs for your fist one.

 

Fitted a 20g today.

ive had a td05, vf35, 18g and today fitted 20g. havent changed any pipes.

still took me 5 hours today but the tools i used were a joke.

After fitting my 20g, it was pointed out that one of the metal coolant pipes was touching the block where it joins the bellhousing and stopping the turbo from fully seating, which explained an up-pipe leak I had.
It need a small area of block to be chiselled off.
This would affect all newage cars - so do a trial bolt down of the turbo and see what it touches.
So long as the turbo comes with pipes it is a straight swap, but its worth using jubilee clips on coolant hoses as the std clips aren't very tight once disturbed.
Also go for a braided oil feed hose as it was far easier to reposition than the std rigid one.

butty it sounds like you had a 20g for a classic then mate because the water pipes are slightly different on a newage, and as for the oil feed bolt it should have a bigger one come with the turbo.

 

Does anyone know what size i need, I have a 20g waiting to go on my mates car and i need a new oild feed and coolant feeds, but what size do I need? Ive searched everywhere but cant find the size of pipe/banjo bolts I need. Can anyone help?

The 20g came from a previous newage STi install ( it was originally a newage AndyF turbo) and I reused the oil feed bolt from the std VF43.
