Question

Having just bought the MY01 and very pleased with it to boot. I am wondering what i should look at buying to *enhance* the car.

So, any thoughts of what i should buy next would be appreciated.

What do you want to get out of the car?
How much have you got to spend?
Do you want to retain your warranty?
Will you be taking your car on track?

The common factor in all the above is you, the driver. I would recommend the IAM driving courses, as well as a driver improvement day such as prodrive live or one of Don Palmers driving development days.

You'd be amazed what a difference it can make to your enjoyment of the car.

Good point, but they only thing i would really want to change would be the headlights. The morrette conversion is a lot nicer looking,
i seen an my01 this morning. WRC style spoiler and headlight conversion. It make such a big difference.

I've got the PPP + boss has offered to pay for Don Palmer school (lucky me!)

Performance is the big one, but headlights and spoiler needs to be addressed too.

Money is no object.

Backbox and Eibachs.
The best first upgrade you could ask for, IMHO

How about "Put your money in a drawer in the sideboard and leave it there"

When you sell the car in 3 years time, the money will still be there

Seriously though, I've been told by a dealer that I will get the same part-ex for my P1 regardless of whether it has the;

18" Alloy Wheels
Prodrive/ Alcon Brakes
Prodrive Exhaust

And for that fact, any of the other stuff that constituted 4k's worth of extras when I brought it.

P1ssed off? You Bet!

Regards
Kurt

Kurt,

Did'nt you get to keep the old bits? That way put the car back to standard and sell the bits on. I would also push the dealer harder on the trade in.

I agree with Jza's earlier comments

Brakes and lights I feel are a must

Exhaust and wheels are a close second for me

Just my thoughts

Lights or at least Bulbs
Silver Wheels - its about time Subaru realised that owners DONT want MariGolds!!

Other than that, a nice Subaru Removable Towbar, Colour Coded Valve caps, Air Freshner - SORTED!!

Anything more is a complete waste of money!!

pete,

did u design the scoob tow bar- u seem to push it at every chance (ohh, and its overpriced and no better than other aftermarket ones!)

also- how can can these mods be a waste of money- did u buy a GL??? if u didnt then why pay more for a quicker/better car? cause thats all this guy wants to do.

The Scoobie towbar is the poodles privates - which REMOVABLE and LOCKABLE aftermarket one is the same???? tell me and I shall have a look see. Quality is not always obvious but it stands out a mile, if you see what I mean? no, you probably dont

I bought a Turbo over a GL because I like fast, reliable cars .... to spend thousands more on dubious mods is questionable - lets look at the facts:-

The Impreza Turbo is probably TOO fast for the roads and conditions as it is!

Most mods could have been done by Subaru - but werent - why?? - because it turns the most reliable of supercar killers into an Alfa Romeo Reliability Problem!

No-one wants it come resale time - why? - it has obviously been owned by someone who wants to go faster than everyone else and has therefore thrashed the car to within an inch of its life!

Do you get value for money??? you all know you are getting taken for a ride dont you??!!

Its EXACTLY the same as the HI-FI nut who truly believes that solid silver speaker wires costing £100 a metre ACTUALLY do anything!!! laughable I know - but there ARE people out there who think this!! They are probably looking at those cars with massive spoilers, Gold Wheels, Big-Bore Exhausts, smoked windows and a disco vibrating every panel and what do you think they are thinking????? YES, they are saying to themselves, 'Look at that complete and utter ********'!!! and I DONT want such losers thinking I am one too!!

Save your money - spend it on something of worth like a chocolate frying pan

Pete
