Subaru says the "D" in spec.D stands for "discreet."

Does that mean I am not getting the maximum air flow across the I/C then

of course your scoop is going to be smaller, all hawkeye models bonnet scoop are smaller that the blob eyes wrx sti, my hawkeye wrx scoop is also smaller than the blob eye scoop and is same size as yours because all hawkeye models, wrx, sti and all spec c, d etc all have same size of scoop unlike the blob eye wrx and sti scoop they both where dif sizes, i have an sti intercooler on mine and the scoop and undertray are designed to cover the intercooler and have air flow comign in properly, i wouldnt worry if i was you this is normal the blob eyes wr1 is designed different being a different model as yours and being older. the dif is the wr1 scoop sits higher and points out more but the base is the same diameter as the hawkeyes scoop

Lol, the Hawkeye bonnet is longer and allegedly a more efficient shape. Subsequently the scoop is designed to the size it's needed to be.

Will a blob STI scoop replace a WRX scoop without bonnet modifications?
