If it has had a face-lift, I can only assume it was done by the same guy who did this...

I'm sure there were howls of protest on here 2 years ago when it appeared there would be no WRX when the new shape came out,

So Subaru caved in.....and nobody bought them.

My worry is that you might not be able to get an WRX STI either due to lack of sales.

Then this website will be like the MG or Lancia owners club talk wishfully about cars that are no longer available.

I have a new WRX STI. Highly recommended.

What a load of pish.

Do you think Subaru caved in because of what was said on this site,No
Its fully documented on here that due to certain reasons the new cars have not been big sellers, these include IMO:
1.Credit crunch
2.£400 Tax Bracket
3.Uglier than a bugeye,lol.that lasted 2 years
4. Softer ride and comforts to try and appeal to a wider audience
5. Poor results in WRC
6. Not seen anymore as the performance bargain that it was originally

I am sure there are others, its certainly a host of factors not just one.

If you think that its over for this website then you are free to leave mucker, somehow i think it will be here a tad longer.

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX - First Look - Motor Trend
id buy it straight away, but the 2008 ones apperntly slower then a golf gti according to fith gear, not worth the running costs,

Subaru UK did bow down to pressure from dealers and consumers alike to still bring over the WRX, the fact it has'nt sold..well ok there are arguements for the above reasons, i do however feel it's a shame that they now have to resort to money off to sell them.

Regardless of what you think of the looks and the way it drives, it is still a Subaru Impreza, with tons of rally heritage, history and a dream car still for many.

New sales are slow, part ex's are drying up, there is no "new breed" of owner to keep the enthusiam alive. Yes we still have the Sti but it's out of reach for a lot of people and there will come a time when less and less classics pass their mot and are ditched, numbers on this site will start to fall and it will be literally the nd of an era.

All imho

Well I did, but got what I thought was a good deal at the time. If had waited I might have got one even cheaper but then that will always happen. I don't miss my WRX 05 and I like the 08 hatch. Yes it could be improved (perhaps if pro drive brought out a performance and suspension pack) they would satisfy those who want more. The looks do grow on you and the new WRX grp N cars are doing well on rallies so maybe all is not lost but as has been said if Subaru don't support WRX models then maybe they will cease to be a supplier of performance cars and eventually this forum will die.

I don't know about other countries but the concept of bringing the Impreza to the masses has not worked. They need to keep it different and make sure the wanabees don't get a look in, even in this climate I'm sure there would be a limited market. Question is does that market make it viable.

Scoobynet will be around for long time yet.

Scoobynet will be here for a long time.

But it could become like MG & Lancia. No new cars, just nostalgia.

I would hate it to happen, but if not enough WRX's and STI's are sold, it could.
