number plates
If i was you i would be very careful as i know someone who did something to alter his personal plate and this was very minor he just put a number place screw in the 0 to make a c and was stopped by the police and had the plate withdrawn from the dvla.
If you wanted to do it speak to signmakers or one of these companys on the net that advertise for show plates
I got pulled for simply having the Subaru logo faded into the background on mine so ***** to changing letters etc.
I got mine online from Number Plates, show plates, Number Plate Makers
I'm now back to regular plates lol.

If you do change the 5 to an S, expect a pull every time you pass through an ANPR camera. Then you can come on and complain about being stopped when the police should be out catching burglars etc.
Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Honestly mate I wouldn't bother. What you're doing is illegal if you use it on road, I'd leave it as 5. The law seems to be clamping down hard on plates (spacing, logos, etc), it's probably due the increased use of ANPR cameras, it's got so bad that there are now some static cameras fitted to the main routes into my county!!

As said mate, the old bill now have the power to conviscate the registration from you, its in the t&c's from dvla when you buy it
. Looks cool as is, everyone will know what you would like it to say

let me get this right.
1, incorrect spacing
2, incorrect font
3, incorrect euro flag
4, illegal alteration x2
5, no bs mark in bottom right of plate
6, no manufacturers mark
if you get caught your 100% gonna get a fine or/and points
its really not worth it
and your fail an MOT
i got pulled with mine and he let me off, but mine is just spaced incorrectly

regardless of any changes you make dont forget to inform your insurance of the new reg, thats why i got pulled....pinged an anpr showing as no insurance as the insurance company still had my old registration number

the police are not normally to bad unless your really taking the pi$$.
also the no BS thing in the corner only applies to cars registered after 2001

As i said in my first post this is exactly what my mate did and had it revoked. Why chance it when it looks fine. spacing etc the police will live with unless they are really funny but altering the text is a no go.
Lets just say your car was stolen and you reported it you will complain all day long the police cant find the car etc however because you have altered the plate the plate recognition the police use will not pick up the plate when your stolen car drove past one.
Quote from the dvla site - Warning: If you intend purchasing a DVLA registration to misrepresent it on your number plate, we would rather you did not buy.

From: Happy that I'm back in a Scooby - but maybe I should have told the wife...!
This is often a topic of conversation with our friends, colleagues etc, as we have private plates on our business vehicles & now on my Scooby. I know we ought to get out more
Having attended the Gathering last year we were amazed at quite how many of the cars had illegal plates. I know some people were using 'showplates' due to the event, however I bet more than 50% of them were illegal!
Mine is (only slightly officer) but I bet there's more than one or two of you on here with 'dodgy' plates!
I think a poll is in order.................

I do not understand why people buy a plate and then try to make it look different. If you cannot buy the real thing, why try to be something its not. It must be something akin to a shortage in the trouser department
