number plates
got nicked yesterday, lol £30 fine perhaps if the fine was bigger we would worry more, he said i dont have to change them will just get another £30 fine everytime im seen, and after 3 times the plate will be taken off me. going to change it save the hassle.
Yeah, i used to modify my plate but i dont anymore. What really pi$$es me off, is when i changed to my private plate on my Subaru, the plastic screws snapped in the threads, i had no way at that time to get them out, and needed to get somewhere later! LOL
So i stuck my new plates on with sticky pads (strong ones), and now i find out they are illegal too! (no BSAU mark, etc, etc) they are that well stuck on it is gonna be a bloody nightmare getting the sticky pads off the car now. Has anyone got any good tips for dissolving the glue on sticky pads without wrecking my paint?

But have been known to be naughty when @ shows.
I think you should modify your plate, then when you come on here moaning that the police have pulled you and given you a fine and told you to get it changed we can all have a jolly good laugh at your expense!
I'm sure if your car was hit by another car that had the number plate "modified" and then sped off you'd soon change your tune when trying to inform the police if it was an eight in the registration or a zero with a bolt stuck in the middle!

I dont modify mine anymore as its not worth the hassle, but i got warned for my plate just for not having the BSAU mark, everything else is legal.. which i thought was a bit harsh!!

Personally I wouldnt do it! the plate looks fine as it is, you can still make out what its meant to be.
I had mine incorrectly spaced and got done for it £30 fine and that was getting off lightly (being a woman helps
) but the officer did film it and report me to DVLA, I still have the plate but as I have the original plates on now I wont get any hassle.

I drill them out- managed to scrap the plastic out with care.
used ally bolts to fasten front no plate back on. looks fine and at least I know they'll come out.
nb- personally i think scribbly writing, stupid little plates and arsing about with the numbers is a total **** thing to do in the 1st place.
why bloody bother with the plate if its not a good match up ????
