My son, Chris, phoned Silverstone to book a rally experience as a pressie for his girlfriend and was quoted £155 "Yes, that was the price when I checked last week but with the reduction in VAT, what is the new price" "That is the price including VAT" "So, shouldn't you have dropped the VAT to 15%" "Err, it's £155 inc. VAT" " So you've raised the price, then" "Err,err no, it's £155"
OK so it's about £3.50 but that isn't the point? I bet Silverstone are not the only ones using the VAT reduction as a means of actually making money? THIS IS A RIP-OFF! Keep your wits about you, people!

pretty pointless and costly exercise...all your prices to recalculate. All your paperwork to reprint. Just daft.
I guess some people are just leaving their prices where they were. Just to save the hassle of re-working them all out.

the big boys don't give a toss as they'll still make their big profits and the government sure don't give a **** as they make more tax money out of it

brilliant
ah,but the tarmac was laid and paid for when VAT was 17.5% so they need to keep to 17.5% until silverstone is paid off.
Fecking yawn !!!!!!!!
thats the current excuse retailers use to keep at 17.5% lately
