Angry im starting to hate my scooby PLEASE HELP!

since buying my first scooby in january its been off the road more than on,ive had no end of problems.the latest was the maf(£351 from subaru) and idle air control valve ,which i got second hand £45 from bucks subaru who i trust and recomend, when both fitted ,following proper proceeders (battery disconnected etc)every thing was the same i checked the codes they were the same ,i tried reseting the ecu and that didnt work,so i drove to bucks subaru where we tried three different IACV and still the same ,richard checked my dump valve and it was faulty they gave me a stock item to try and bingo it worked a treat ,then a couple of miles later it stalled at the first junction, the engine light came on and it was back to square one, what the f**k? any ideas? sorry about the long story!

It sounds like a simple MAF issue.

I've just looked at your car in your View My Scooby profile and it's got an Induction Kit fitted - REMOVE IT and return to stock airbox.

The stock airbox is far better than any crappy aftermarket Induction Kit. Even more so on your particular Impreza MY98.

Induction Kit = Dead MAF every time.

Contact Paul here, mention that you are a Scoobynet member and he'll sort you out. Him and Steve have done Subaru's for a while and they were spot on with my car last week.

Stu did you have an error code for MAF before you replaced with a new one, and after fitting it went away? What stage are you at now does the car keep stalling what problems are you getting?

Monky the maf is new and fitted and the code has gone ,the code for the idle air control is still showing, although ive tried 3 different ones ,the code went off and the clear indicator came on when i put the stock dump valve on,how ever it felt 100% percent better instantly and then stalled and running rough ,engine light on and AICV code showing again ,standard air box not fitted yet at thats where im at .
