To fit a screamer you'll need to change the downpipe- then the wastegate will vent to atmosphere rather than going down the downpipe as usual.

I'm not sure who makes them for Imprezas to be honest- they're quite popular with Evo's although most people don't use them for long as they're so noisy.

Normally used for a turbo without a built in wastegate (e.g. some massive Garrett GT30/35 jobbie) so an external wastegate is used. The screamer pipe connects directly to the wastegate.

As mentioned very noisy.

Mega noisy- verging on unbearable. IIRC the theory is that by the wasyegate venting separately it doesn't cause turbulence in the downpipe

The screamer pipe is part of a rotated turbo system and as such you would need a complete new system

It is possible to have a downpipe made with a divorced wastegate and have a screamer pipe that vents to atmosphere.

Zak @ Mocom Racing has run this very setup on a JDM twinscroll and i think any gains to be had were very marginal and did not offset the overwhelming noise of having the gate dump to atmosphere.
