Default Encryption software for USB stick

I have a USB stick I want to encrypt (all or part of it, doesn't matter).

Doesn anyone know of a piece of software or a way of doing this apart from a password encrypted zip file.

Its a 1gb stick so plenty of room on it.

Cheers

TrueCrypt is well regarded but never used it.
I got a different one free on a stick but that was a bit tedious to use. Couldn't be arsed after that.
