Someone I know is mending a K reg pre-2000 Import. There is a problem with the fuel supply. He thinks that there could be a fault with the fuel pump (possibly a common fault in all K reg Imports). But then again, he would like to check the fuel relay, just in case. Unfortunately he can not locate it.

Can I have some foolproof advice on where the fuel relay can be hiding in that scooby?

Diagrams also welcome.

The relay is above the fuse box on the drivers side,you have to move the fuse box get on your back and look up behind the dash,there is a metal bracket with 2 metal round relays and a brown square plastis relay which is the one you want.Also check the wiring plug under the rear seat as these can cause problems aswell.

Ok, wrxbart is right, its up behind the fuse box, on a metal clip which is screwed to the panel infront of the door, its best to unscrew this with a magnetic phillips, then it will all come away, but the screw WILL fall away if not caught and you wont get it back. The brown relay is your main relay, it does things like the idle air solenoid and the boost solenoid but it also provides power to the fuel pump relay, which sits next to it on the bracket.

Before you go messing with it, as its a right pain to get to, i suggest you take the back seats out, and on the right hand side on the floor is a black plug, this is the sender and power to the fuel pump. Use a multi meter and test you are getting 12v to it, switching the ignition on and off. Also check the condition of the plug, as mine had burnt INSIDE, causing my fuel pump problems.
Mine is an L reg import so i dont see why it wont be exactly the same.
