Nothing. It just burns any moisture right off.

Get good quality DEI heat wrap 2" x 50foot. £45
It has stitching down the side to show the overlap.
Tie it on with tie wire from Goodridge or similar.
Apply the wrap damp and keep it tight.

wire it on and use a very high temp paint.

keeps water out (saves a steamy warm up every time when wet)

and also hardens the wrap up.

and bound to keep heat in that little bit more.

I stopped using the spray that the heat wrap manufacturers wanted to supply for the very reason that it made the wrap go hard and brittle. I found that the effect of this was that the wrap could flake off in quite a short period, especially if running fairly high EGTs.

I've always used a brush on high temp paint.

does harden the wrap (which I like.....stops it fraying here there and everywhere)

looks good

never had any problems of it flaking (plenty of paint, so the wrap just soaks it all up)..and I've done quite a few of these.

....bound to keep a little more heat in.

Tests somewhere else on this forum show that it doesn't keep more heat in.
