Default Competitors- please read

Just a few brief reminders/pointers please for all competitors-

1. bring your helmet/license/docs. arms /legs to be covered at all times.
2. dont forget to bring your entry ticket and pitlane pass- have this clearly on display when you get to the pitlane please as it helps the guys sort out the cars.
3. fuel- if you are bringing spare it must be in an approved storage (metal) container, not plastic /other containers. Marshals will be looking out for this and may bar anyone leaving fuel cans open/unsafe etc.
4. signing on- must be done before you race and you must attend the drivers meeting usually held at the startline area around 10m. if you go to sign on leave your car open/keys with someone so the scrutineers can see inside etc.
5. trailers/support cars-- not to be left in pitlane on the hardstanding, move them onto grass please and trailers out of the way. marshals may remove scrutineering stickers of any cars "dumped" blocking the queue lanes or left inappropriately.
6. scrutineers- will come to your car in pitlane and work their way through, dont go looking for them or driving around. they will get to you all.

will be some questions we suspect from people who havent raced before so fire away on this thread if you need any info.

Default Noise

One thing not metioned in the above is Noise all cars will be tested by Elvington Staff the noise limit is 103db or 112db for a limited number of demo cars

You will be noise tested before you go on track your car will be given a sticker with the db rating you have achieved on it if any car is found to be making exseive noise after the test's it will be pulled and re-tested and the reading compered to the one on your sticker if they differ you will play no futher part in the event

This is to safeguard the further use of the venue witch is in court today and all this week on the noise and use issues we will get a rulling on Friday so we are the first event after the court case

Thank you for your undersanding in this matter Trevor Duckworth Straightliners Track Side Crew

I am sure Chris will be along anytime to answer the questions above!

Actually DO need to know if petrol station, approved plastic fuel cans are OK, and if I can pull out the rear seats too!

Hey Puff, last year I was embarrassed to be 91.5 DB .. full 2.5" decat, tubular headers, TD05-20g turbo, H&S rear box ... !

May be a bit louder this year as now got 3" d/pipe and exhaust from H&S although with center ( small! ) silencer and back box, and new headers.. seems louder! Maybe I can break 95 dB(A) !

plastic fuel cans not really acceptable you need to bring a metal (approved) fuel storage can. the plastic ones are emergency use only.

competitors can leave site for fuel, however dont think about attempting to do so between 8am and 11am at the earliest as the flow of cars in will prevent easy access out.

you may remove rear seats and other minor trim but must retain the front pair, and have working mot equipment ie wipers/horn/seatbelts.

Toyo tyres- this event and TOTB form part of a deal with Toyo to allow all competitors access to T1rs and 888s at a discount price. pm or email please, however you wont be able to order in time for this weekend now i'm afraid. We can supply all year round however. :-)

If a car is applicable to the "pro" (under 11.5) category, do the same noise regulations of 103db apply?

Default noise

I have just spent the afternoon in court and i can tell you there will be no leeway on the noise limit it will be strictly enforced by the Elvington Staff and ourselves as always,,,, so please to avoid any disapointment make sure your car is under the limit

We should have a verdict on the future of Elvington early next week,,,,Bishop

the way it works is the absolute fastest cars will end up in pro class anyway as they run the times and move up, but of course we could list non tuners within that class. almost all the other classes will be made up of non tuner cars i suspect, but we will look at the results closely and tweek them to show non tuners afterward in a seperate list if its possible.
