Hi

Ive managed to locate all the bits and bobs that i need to string together a supercharger conversion for the SVX.

Does anyone know who would be able to fit this (properly - not just any monkey) and do it at a reasonable price as at the moment im looking at the best part of 2.5k in labour on top of the large parts list i need. Im led to beleive that it needs some custom bracket to be made to mount the supercharger unit in line with all the other gubbins.

cheers folks

hmmm 240bhp SVX + Supercharger conversion = Rapid 310ishBHP with a tourqe figure roughly the same. mmmmmmm POWWWWWWEEEERRRR!! ) )

'a need for speed'

I don't wish to put a downer on you, but what about the gearbox?

I've heard that SVX's have fragile gearboxes that need replacing after 50-60k miles, or is that just an old wives tale?

You could try Turbo Technics. http://www.turbotechnics.com/As well as refurbishing turbos they do a supercharger conversion for they Elise. They might be able to help. There is a guy on here called David Brown who has had the 270bhp conversion done to his Exige and seems very happy.

same Dave brown that has the scooby?

Reffro: yeh gearbox is known to be the weak side of this particular car, fortunately i have a 94 model which has the revamped gearbox which can take more of a pounding, im also going to get a cooler for it which should help it a bit more, was in *sad to say* a supercharged saxo demo car the other day, still h8 the bloody things but was superquick i have to admit.

I'd have mentioned Powerstation in Cheltenham to do the work for you, but You're up in Jockland.

How are you going to increase fuelling, etc??

going to have to make a custom bracket to mount the supercharger on the svx properly, which, with any luck should fit on to an Impreza set up as the engine is almost the same in the svx (obviously plus an extra 2 cylinders, but same layout), i still reckon mounting bracket should work, does involve dumping your air con unit though!

supercharged imprezas??!!

reckon i might get a few people interested in bracket for mounting unit once its complete *maybe*
