My Homemade Wide Arch Classic
As per this thread
https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...onversion.html
here is what i have been building for the last 3 months in my spare time at work, everything done by me, including the paintwork/bodykit fitting etc etc, the only part i had help with was some stainless steel welding to make some spigot rings up for my Audi RS4 wheels
how it looked a few months ago
how it looked this morning
fatty bl-atty
flocked dash and new steering wheel
needs a hoover out
enjoy

Thats a seriously nice kit you've fitted there. When I read the title I envisaged one of those hideous kits that make the wheels look like they're in the middle of the car.
You proved me wrong

i had some rust on the rear arch lips and was just supposed to cut it out and fit some slight over fenders to it, as i did not want to spend to much cash, on an 11 year old car
not sure how it all changed in my head??!!?, but i ended up spending 1k on the wheel arches, 450 on the wheels and another 500 or so on other bits and bobs
probably save myself 1k in labour by doing it myself tho
first time i have ever fitted a wide arch kit to a car LOL

I know everyone else's already said, but it is an amazing looking classic!
How durable is the flocking? I'd love to have mine done, it only does about 3000 miles a year, and very spoilt!

Great job with the arches and the dash looks great, for me if i`d have got the money would have gone for wider bk wheels to fill the arches a bit more-they sit a bit far in,Maybe white compomotive mo`s /speedlines/whatever, that kinda style.
Great job with the arches though they arent in your face just noticeable enough to look cool.

personally i think i could have done the kit better, but i can live with it, as after all, its nearly 13 years old now, so worth **** all weather its done pro, or done as a tidy up job
if i was doing the job again, i would
1. not bother lol
2. remove the full outer metal skins from the car before, adding the new stuff over the top. did not fancy doing this the first time around, but would not have a problem doing it that way in the future.

Ok people
I spaced the rear wheels a little further outwards this weekend and took a few snaps this morning before i opened up at work
not sure if i want to push them further outwards as they can look a bit wierd if you push them to far IMO
