Hello
I am looking to buy an old shape Impreza turbo asap.
I want the one that came as standard with the 4pot calipers and the 215BHP engine, but if possible the nice 5 spoke alloys as well.
Am I looking for an MY99? If so when did these first appear, late 1998?
I believe the MY00 was the model that had the nasty multi spoke alloys, is that right?

Have a look through www.sidc.co.uk this should give you details of spec changes on model years etc. You could then look through www.subaru.co.uk for used cars. You would find a private purchase cheaper than a dealer but make sure the car has a full history and a warranty as these can be extended by new owners in most circumstances.

Yup MY99 is the one your after!!

 

I have an MY98 for sale if it's any use to you. Ill send full details if you want. Doesnt have the 4 pot calipers, but does have uprated grooved and vented discs.

Yes, the MY99 is the one you're after.
(Think it was August '98 when the four pot calipers where introduced - check sidc/faq though.)

The six spoke wheels (the ones you don't like) are on the MY00.

When I went to look at my MY00 at the dealers, I didn't like the six spoke wheels compared to the older 5 spoke ones.

I've grown to like them now and actually prefer them to the others, but each to their own.

Just incase anyone thought i am using scoobynet as a sales page, I have to sell my turbo to pay for my new wrx which is coming early feb and im excited about!!!

No-one seems to want it at the moment
