Default Advice on exhaust needed

I have PPP fitted to my MY00 turbo classic which i understand means that i have the centre de-cat section with resonator and prodrive back box.

At the moment the car is too quiet for my liking so i am after a bit more volume to the exhaust note but nothing too loud.

I cant really afford a full de-cat system at the moment as i understand i will require a remap also (will be getting this done sometime in the future though), so i am looking at 2 options:

1. Keep the prodrive back box and just fit a straight through centre section which will remove the resonator.

OR

2. Buy an aftermarket back box (i have been looking at the Afterburber Vortex 3") and keep the centre section with the resonator

Which of the above would you recommend for a louder exhaust note with maybe a slight power increase??

Cheers in advance

Deano

I would fit an after market back box, loads to choose from, depending on how much noise you want.
Are you sure the car has decat centre pipe?

I had PPP classic and had decat down pipe and centre cat, this gave afew extra bhp and passed mot.

You cannot remap the PPP Ecu a new Ecu would be reqd.

Hope this helps.

I test drove a ppp Impreza ..... it made me buy a Ninja Backbox - the Ninja is less thunderous - but easier to live with on a run.

Your option #2 will bring the noise.

As pete says above, the ninja is not a bad option either, but probably not on the same level as the AB 3".

Cheers guys,
Think im going to opt for option 2

Is the Aferburner 3" going to be louder/better option than the standard Afterburner?
