About to do a gearbox oil change, taking out the Millers CFS and putting something else in. Will Castrol cure a crunching synchro from 4th to 5th (once the gearbox is warmed up)?
Maybe, or maybe not.
Short of a 'box rebuild, the case of sorting dodgy syncros is a bit of expermentation.
Syntrax does appear to work well with Impreza 'boxs though.
(although I personally must note that with my old car, at first it seems to get get more notchy shortly after an oil change, then it settles after 2-300mile of varied driving
)
Also worth making sure the floormatt isn't under your clutch pedal (silly as it seems, it does make a difference
), and also if its not been done for a while: give the clutch fluid a change.
