Cambelt/timing belt
Just an easy query for someone I think
The cambelts subaru use are they their own make? Or do they use another manufacturer?
Just need to know as I need to buy one, any ideas as to where the cheapest place to get one would be appreciated

Delco and Gate's do timing belts a little cheaper than the OEM belt, Power Enterprise a little more expensive
Delco, Genuine Subaru and Power Enterprise all in stock here

Its for a MY00 UK Turbo. Been told to get a Subaru one due to quality and if it snaps before it should do warranty?
I'm not after the cheapest, I just want a good quality belt that won't snap before its time!
Its very difficult to find someone who knows what they are doing so who do you recommend MrRee? I will travel if thats what it takes!!!

the belts that main dealer use are also Gate's/dayco
there are really only 2 belt making companys anyways. & thats Dayco/Gate's
dayco i always use, never had a problem. & there very easy to fit too. theres even marks on the belts

in my eys, there a little more easyer than vauxhall mate.
heres a tip, take the rad off. you then get full access to the belt covers
i've always had/done vauxhalls, this is my first scoob

just done mine, it is relatively easy (with rad removed) you can see everything and get it all lined up. thetensioner screwed me but luckily somone came to my rescue. Ifyour bro is a mechanic then he should have no issues
I live in Wilts, I bought a Gates belt £59.99 and a local jap specialist fitted it for me and did the crank seal at the same time(£5.40 from Subaru) took out and replaced rad. Including new coolant etc they charged me £109.00. Highly recommended and a complete Bargain!!
