Default Remap/Tuning a WRX PPP

Hi,
I'm in the market at the moment for a 2003 WRX PPP as it seems a good compromise (need a 5 dr) and I've seen one for the same price as most of the std WRX's.

So my question is whether it's still possible to remap the Prodrive ECU and what sort of gains would i be looking at?
Cheers
Dunk

Yeh you can remap it mate, normally an ecu tek reflash.

The ppp kit gives a high flow cat and a upgrade fuel pump.

To tune it a little more you just add a panel filter, a decat and reflash it.

Youd probably get another 25-30bhp

Im not 100% sure on the figures but thats a guestimate.

No it doesn't... that is the STi PPP. The WRX PPP is a backbox, silicon intercooler pipe, decat pipe (not downpipe) and ecu.

Maybe difficult to find an 2003 UK STi wagon

A remapped WRX wagon would make a very good all round daily driver.... and would give a standard STi a run for it's money but in a more civilsed manor . A great comprimise if a 5 door is required.

Cool - the sensible side of me says WRX but I also drove an STI with the PPP and that was great . Just not sure if it was £4k+ greater.... and as said above no 5 door option...

Jay cheers mate

nutey, depends on your purpose mate, but im guessing a wrx ppp will meet all your needs with the benifit of it being cheaper for the same age of car as an sti, should you get power hungry then it can still be tuned with ease.

I did exactly that matey, made a genuine 235WHP. Truely a great car !

Do it you won't be disappointed

I would still have it if I hadn't got a cracking deal on a Spec D.

I miss it.....

.....but this one is helping me get over it....

Sensible engine and chassis mods and the MY03WRX will keep you smiling Mine was pretty relentless in acceleration. Natural progression from 4th to 5th was about 110mph (private road of course).

53wrx that's a great looking car!! They are some good improvements over the PPP I bet the increase in torque made a hell of a difference - How much did it all cost at Mocom?

I think I might be sold on the idea. Better get myslef to the garage before someone beats me to it....

The torque is what makes it so much fun.

All Hayward and Scott exhaust parts. Ian at H&S is very generous and sorted me out a Sports Cat DP and Uppipe for about £620 inc VAT and fitting although I got it fitted at Mocom.

My Mocom bill for wrapping and fitting exhaust, supplying and fitting uprated plugs and remapping was about £750. I would also add an STi panel filter at about £50 to the total. Comes out around the same as PPP but for an awful lot more !

I am reusing the parts on my current car and expect even better results

I bought all new parts, you could of course buy second hand and save a bit.
