Default Rear window wont close

Went out this morning, kids in the back, opened their windows for some air, nearside window went clunk when it stopped...and now it can go up and down a few inches but wont close

This is on a classic MY00 (where the windows only go down half way).

any ideas, will taking it apart to have a look help, or should I just go to a glass specialist place on monday ?

I would have a look first, it may be obvious as to what is wrong and be an easy fix.

Take it apart Swiss they are quite easy to do have swapped a few out in my time

take the door panel off, and you should be able to see what the problem is, alternatively you can undo the two bolts that hold the window in place and refit it properly

Nope not that difficult at all, couple of screw covers, then IIRC it lifts upwards and then off

Sounds like the motor could have dropped.

cheers mate pm replied

maz...the motor maybe the problem, it is still working but I have two gold nuts loose which were sitting on the bottom of the door. They obviously held the mechanism in place and were part of the scissor axis that lifts it up. I can see the bolts where they are meant to be on, but cant get them to fit through the door, so it looks a trip to autoglass in the morning.

all sorted

steve, maz, thx for your help

autoglass didnt have a clue, so went to a mate's garage and between the two of us, a few screwdrivers and a torch, we managed to get the mechanism back up and bolted in.

must remember not to close the doors so hard next time
