Question Full decat exhaust on a newage?

Can a full decat exhaust system be used safely on a newage without a remap?

Yes & No

MY might make a difference, Some peeps says it works OK and some not main problem seems to be boost spikes or Overboost and have fitted/changed restrictor in pipe.

IMHO

From my own experience..... no remap was required when going to a full decat on my Spec C. No boost spikes, fueling fine.

The car did have a decat to get the best from the mods though.

Shaun yours is a JDM Sti IIRC they don't seem to have issues with being De-Catted unlike the UK/EU Sti's. IMHO

Newage WRX decats seem to do alright on the TD04 turbo but the bigger IHI turbo's on the UK STi's can cause some boost spike problems !!

Why not de-cat and travel a few miles further North and have Andy Forrest re-map your ECU

If you have a standard WRX then i would definitely get a remap but if you already have PPP then it can be run OK as i know of a few PPP'd cars with decats and they run fine
