MY might make a difference, Some peeps says it works OK and some not
main problem seems to be boost spikes or Overboost
and have fitted/changed restrictor in pipe.

Shaun yours is a JDM Sti IIRC they don't seem to have issues with being De-Catted unlike the UK/EU Sti's. IMHO

Newage WRX decats seem to do alright on the TD04 turbo but the bigger IHI turbo's on the UK STi's can cause some boost spike problems !!

If you have a standard WRX then i would definitely get a remap but if you already have PPP then it can be run OK as i know of a few PPP'd cars with decats and they run fine
