Unhappy Thefts in ashford middx area.

A warning to all scooby owners, there has been a lot of thefts in the surrounding area in the last month or two,I know one poor sod had two stolen off his drive in one go and that was in broad daylight, so if you live in the ashford middx area keep an eye on your scooby, quite a few owners have had bits taken off there cars overnight, probably by the same scumbags, they drive around the area in a car and van looking for scooby's to target then return later [around 2am is the norm] to steal what they want.the police are aware of this gang and warn against having a go as there is at least three of them and they will attack you. so take care. dan

Thanks for the warning Dan. Will be more vigilant than usual.
Have had a couple of cars stop outside the house in the last month or so in the early hours so i'm quite cautious as it is.

That's odd mate!!! I had a Black BMW 316 compac outside mine a little while ago.I thought they were lost as they kept going passed my house. I have seen them since but they were just parked up about 50/60 yards down the road.

I think it's a 52 reg,tints and I think it had M-Sport alloys. And it was a girl/women driving.

only way is to tracker it, even then I know people that wake up to find them on their front walls in the mornings there's only a few places that they put those things in anyway takes a short time for them to be out if the cars pukka. You can stall it but cant stop it ....

TBH if they can get around an alarm system a wheel clamp won't be any problem to them.

The best way to stop the car going is to remove fuses or something similar

alarms are sirens and power sources clamps are angle grinders and thats it they wont power up an angle grinder at 2 am outside your house for sure. I heard of people who know scoobies looking at what fuses or relays have been taken out going home getting the piece needed returning and bye bye easy believe me

Not sure, you'll have to get a wiring diagram.

Removable steering wheel is another good one

I'm thinking of putting a swinging axe up........

To be honest. If the jobless bit's of **** want the car they can take it. There is no way on this earth I'm going to risk my life & my sons. The other half is another matter as the mortgage would be paid off.....hmmmmmm

thats a bit worrying, my mate lives down there, a few of us leave our cars there sometimes, i thought ashford was meant to be really safe car crime wise! hes gone and fitted cctv covering all the cars though, seems like a good deterrent. darms that bollard idea seems great too, nice one!

lots of good comments about security but be warned if you try to fit a cut out switch [ignition] it could damage the ecu so if in doubt best not.
