Cool slam panel

seen these on flea bay - so i decided to have a go at a diy version. out came the trusty tape measure, pencil & paper and after a couple of attempts with a bit of fine tuning this is what i came up with. one is just dull polished stainless steel, the other is circle polished stainless steel. i tried both but i think i prefer the plain one, what do you think?

Apparently this

A high flow radiator panel is a great engine dresser, it also increases the efficiency of your engine.

Upto a fifth of the air that enters the car from the front manages to escape through the slam panel and the bonnet.

This panel reduces that loss and can decrease your radiator temperature by upto 5 degrees centigrade.

A cooler engine bay is only a good thing!

Prefer the plain one

I've got one to fit, you noticed a lower engine temp?

Did wonder if another effect might be that the air passing over the rad may then interfere with the down flowing air from the i/c scoop reducing i/c efficiency.

This might have a double good effect or I might be thinking about this too much and ought to buy a new anorak and get out there and meet people.

Well done for producing a cool looking device!

silverscoobydan - the water temperature gauge definately reads lower than before, performance wise its hard to tell.

if enough people are interested in these i might be persuaded to produce a few more. i have also thought of another option which is aluminium - anodized (after manufacture) to a colour of your choice. although i think the costs for anodizing small quantities may push up the cost to a point where its not a feasible proposition

thanks for your comments - i prefer the plain one as well.
