Default ECU on my93???????????????????????????

I have been looking at the idea of upgrading my ECU, I have a MY93, its my understanding that the early imports (1993) is 240bhp, and has a lower rev limit.

I have been told that by fitting a ECU from a later model I can bring the car in line with the later model of around 260bhp. The car is in very good condition only imported last year and had just 45k on the clock, so i dotn think i can do any damage.

Anyhow, scanning on eBay is gets very confusing, looking @ the following what would be the best option, as i dont understant, Z3, S8 etc, etc...

eBay.co.uk: SUBARU IMPREZA WRX Z 4 ECU FROM 96 JAP IMPORT (item 180118739604 end time 20-May-07 19:13:56 BST)
eBay.co.uk: subaru impreza turbo wrx sti ecu 8S (item 120121320601 end time 27-May-07 20:18:34 BST)
eBay.co.uk: SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI PRODRIVE ENGINE ECU UNIT UPGRADE (item 160118015233 end time 27-May-07 15:27:27 BST)

Also and pros, cons?

For your car you need the ecu that has 4 plugs ie the Z4 from the 260ps wrx I happen to have one spare too if you're after one They give a nice power gain on the early wrx.

If you plug a z4 ecu in to your car you'll gain somewhere in the region of 20bhp As far as I know there are no drawbacks either.

so z3 will mean...

11.78psi @ 6600rpm. Fuel-cut 15.65psi, does the red line limit go up too, as it really easy to hit the red line in a my93 and if the car gets there even quicker then its going be a issues lol
