Someone help me find this ECU.
I have a JDM STI Version 4 and my ecu was damage by water. Anyone know where or have a stock ecu I can buy? Or any good places that have Apexi PowerFC for engine EJ20K that is instock and ready to ship? 6S or 8S ECU will work also.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Try Grade-A Subaru +44 1663 744 114 they're good breakers and may have one in stock.
Looking at your loction, I'm guessing you're in the USA, so I hope you can get this mapped for the fuel you're using.
Good luck

Just got 2 from Sizer. He got a 6S and 8S. Mine is a 6S, but what the heck, both will work anyways. Anyone know what's the difference from these 2?
Also, these stock ECU can't be reflash or whatever. If it's still stock with all the Jap info, then it's perfectly fine on my car. I have been running the stock ecu with my motor swap using 93 octane gas and it's smooth.

I see you have just bought a 6s and 8s from sizer, i would be very grateful if you could sell me the 8S as i require one ASAP, this help would be excellent, please let me know ASAP.
Thanks
Dan.

75 is the ecu from an STi 4 (1998 model year, white dials)
8S is the stock UK turbo ecu for 97-98 (both model years). Note this is set up for a different turbo to the STi models so boost control may not be right. I think they also had different sensors (e.g. MAF).
Also note that there are wiring differences between the 8S and other ecus. The cam and crank sensor wires need to be swapped over, and one other (fuel pump?). Not sure if the 8S ecu will be expecting a signal from the immobiliser circuit, either.
You are right in saying that these ECUs are not reflashable. You can still get 97/98 model year Apexi PFCs very cheap from nengun, but you'll have to wait for it to be shipped from Japan. Otherwise try your local suppliers!
I thought recently someone had managed to 'crack' the old style ECU's so they could be remapped, I'm sure i read a thread on SN somewhere. Could be totally wrong tho
ps, still have a JDM STI v3 ECU for sale
if anyones interested

The 6S ecu only fired up cylinder 1 and 4. And the 8S have an immobolizer, so it wouldn't work on my car. Another £150 down the drain. Anyone have a 6S ECU for sale?

Hi XyKo,
I have an ecu that i removed from my 1998 V4 STI, it was in good working order before i removed it, the only problem is that it has no outer casing, i see that you have two ecu's allready so you could just use one of the casings from them, let me know if any good otherwise off to that well known auction site.
Cheers
Dan.
