My understanding is that its safe (even for cat) in any quantity unlike Millers which can harm cat if overdone. I think you need at least half a tin per tankful to get a significant improvement in RON. If you have your car properly mapped without OB then the only reason to use it is if your're caught out and have to use lower grade petrol.

 

I found Millers Octane Plus more effective.

Thanks everyone, I've heard that octane booster can do damage to the engine so I'm a bit wary of using it.

 

I wouldn't bother too much about using it on the road as your map will be optimised for UK fuel. Add a touch if doing a track day though.

 

It's used more as a safety margin, ie. Rolling/Track day.

But you can get it mapped it to make the most of it, as i did and got +20/20.

I use the NF Race Formula. Half a bottle (3ml/L) per tank. So costs about £5 per tankful.

 

I think I might give it a try and see how the car responds, another option would be a remap I suppose.

Which is best (safest) - Millers, NF Race, Pro Boost or something else?
