The end of an era was reached on Saturday when "Blackscooby" was sold

I'd given up actively trying to sell it (as I'm not desparate to sell) but someone approached the guy who'se serviced it for years and asked if it was still for sale.

Sadly its now departed, I'm Scoobyless.... Quite traumatic when someone actually comes along with cash and takes your baby you've caressed for 3 loving years.

Time to move on and find a new love.
Maybe something which doesn't have such an affliction to SUL !
But I'll have to see.

Will still be around on Scoobynet, but from now on as a "none Scooby owner". Please don't hold this against me as I'm traumatised enough as it is.

Cheers folks,

Mark

Sorry to hear that Mark, hope you get something exciting to replace it with less of a thirst.

I guess you're thinking turbodiesel may be the way forward? Loadsatorque...

Nick.

Hi Mark,

Glad you found a buyer, even though it wasn't that globetrotting brother of mine!

Cheers

Rich,

I was just writing you an E-mail.....

Don't know what to get next. Its got to do the following :-
Tow a Sprint car.
Carry spare alloys..
Tool box
Motor up and down motorways on the daily crawl around South Manchester.

So far its a Volvo V70 T5...... and really I don't know if I'm really ready to get my pension

Or just sod it and get a Golf PD150 import.

Then you wouldn't need to tow a Sprint car - just use the Golf as it would run in the up to 1400 category. Go in the roadgoing category and you are bound to be on a winner (how many unmodded 1400s have 150bhp and a shed load of torque?)

TaviaRS,

Yeah it had already crossed my mind ! I'd have to have a go just to see how it would do

Comes with traction control so would be better off the line than my Pug 205 GTi !

I'm pretty sure the Golf is a 1.9.

From the Mid Cheshire Sprint Regs

Cars using forced induction are classified as having an engine capacity increase of 40%, those using diesel fuel a reduction of 50%

(e.g. a 2001cc turbo diesel will be considered to be equivalent of a 1400cc normally aspirated petrol engine).

How about a Legacy B4RSK (Do they do it in an estate version??)...

That might do the trick, or even an Audi RS4.......

The plan is next year we'll be playing on the Mid Cheshire Sprint courses, which does include a Harewood.

We'll also be using Harewood as our proving ground for the engine rebuild to make sure that we're quicker. Looking for around 200BHP out of the Pug 205 (170 / 175 at the wheels). Currently 150BHP at the wheels so we should be able to go well once its all sorted, provided we can actually use any of that power in a FWD car

Cheers

Mark
