Default Turbo and Ecu headscratching

I've got a '93 wrx with TD04 turbo, I've bought a TD05 16g to go on it. I've read that the Z4 ecu is a good one to fit when doing the swap, but have been offered a W9 off an RA for a good price. Will this run ok on my wrx with the TD05? Does the ecu on the RA link in to the DCCD in any way that might cause problems as I have no DCCD?

Does anyone know which pipes I will need to replace to fit the TD05? I have turbo, wastegate and actuator ready to fit, what else will I need?

My TD04 is only boosting at 0.8 bar and I've been told it should be at 0.9, is that right? why might that be? It runs absolutely spot on, bottom end of the revs its amazing, it just seems not to get any better up top. From 4000 up it seems not to kick in like it should. Actuator is not adjustable as far as I can see and I can't find anything wrong. Absolutely no smoke from turbo and no noises either.

Any help on these would be much appreciated. ta.

Firstly don't recall the W9 as an RA ecu..

if it is an RA ecu you need to check the rev limit..

It's quite weird that you have a td04 (is it a wagon?) as i been lead to believe that nearly all the early wrxs had a td05.

WRX/STi Saloon ECU's 2C, U8, W6, W9 - As above, 11.47psi held to redline. Fuel-cut 14.57psi
WRX (1995/96) ECU Z4 - 12.71psi, dropping to 11.78psi @ 6600rpm. Fuel-cut 15.65psi

W9 is an RA ECU, from a 1993/1994 RA, running very similar maps to the W6 and U8.
This later changed to a Z5.

I don't think the W9 rev limits are any different but can confirm later if needed.

As mentioned above, if it's a saloon it should have a TD05.

It's definitely got a smaller turbo than a TD05, I've not removed it to check numbers, a friend just looked at it and told me it was a TD04. Car is a very early model saloon, chassis no is 0082**.

Probably got slapped on in Japan then... as all Pre96 are TD05 except WRX Wagons which are TD04.
