Just upgraded from a classic to a JDM version 8 STI. IT's ******* amazing!!!!!
Will put some pics up when i pick it up.

It's had the horrible bugeye lights replaced with Moretti's.

Now looking where i can buy a WR1 upper and lower grill same as a car for sale on fleebay. Don't know how to put pic on this site but could any of you fine people have a look on fleebay and let me know if they are WR1's and where i can buy them? Item number is 150088237933.

I got a grille kit (upper & lower) from Scott Lowe. But i've checked their site and they don't appear on there anymore..

LOL, i've only just put it on.

Contact Scott Lowe and ask when/if they're getting more in. I think it was £150 for the kit.

 

Is £150 for the top and bottom grill? Hope so, only just managed to scrape dosh up for the car!

STi 8's were Blobeye's, gets a bit confusing mate.

He said to go to a Subaru dealer but wouldn't their prices be outragious???

 

The WR1 lower grille is quite expensive from what I recall. Will find a picture of mine and post up- look better but just my opinion........

Subaru never gave them STi version numbers. It sort of works for the classics, and ppl generally know what is meant by STi V2/V5 cylinder heads etc. But if you go and order some STi8 bodywork stuff, such as foglight covers, lights, bumpers etc thinking it will fit yours and you will be disappointed.

Mechanically (apart from suspension) MY03 stuff will fit MY01, but seeing as you were looking from mesh grill bits MY03 grill will not fit yours.

When looking for bits you are best saying it's an MY01 (bugeye) and you'll get the right bits

 

That's a shame. And yes, the subaru ones are double the price, about £320 i think. Check the subaru web site out.

You could always ask for the supplier of the grille from SL, maybe you get it direct?!?

If 01MY is called STi7, which it shouldn't-
then
02MY shouldn't be called STi8
and
03MY shouldn't be called STi9 either
