Mine does about 30 MPG on the Motorway @ 90 ish (if my maths are even remotely correct). Usually get about 330 miles from a tankful (50 Litre tank and i usually put 45 litres in to fill it) on long trips up and down the m6.
230 miles when using it to and from work (9 Miles in one hour so heavy traffic!) and a bit of a blast now and then![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

95ron fuel is fine for them. I used to get about 270miles from a tank day to day. And have pushed 400 on a long motorway trip but that really was driving on fumes at the end.

I've averaged around 32 mpg from mine in just over 15k. Mixed motorway, and A road commutes - pretty much 50/50 split.
I assume you are looking for a reasonably sporty/quick car but are concerned about running costs as you are interested in mpg?
If you are, I can thoroughly recommend the Type R mate. It is pretty quick, not STi quick, but fast enough for me 99% of the time. Servicing is annually, and is very reasonable, even at Honda, insurance for me was 400 quid (27 y.o., no claims and no points - touch wood), the only thing it's needed was rwo new front tyres at 15k, they were around 250 quid fitted. It is also reasonable when it comes to depreciation too.
I have had a classic Turbo, and once off the line, there really is little in it IMO. But the running costs, quality of the finish, value for money etc are all way in the Type R's favour.
Let me know if there's anything else you are interested in mate.

spot on,at the moment ive got an a3 tdi quattro for long distance use but its a shared car and it might be going soon so i was after something fun and a bit cheaper to replace it. i know how reliable hondas are and if i can get over 30 mpg il be happy. got an 05 sti as my own car but i do about 400 miles a week and at 17mpg i just couldnt afford to run it all the time.
