Default speakers for a classic impreza

Does anyone know the size of the front door speakers for a 1998 classic Impreza and can you suggest a componet set that sounds the bollox, isnt too expensive and will fit without any or very little mods (mids and tweeters) Thanks,

Andy

go for some fusions mate, very nice mid bass drivers, with a smooth dynamic tweeter, and above all not too exspensive, there is a choice throughout the range as well, i can garuntee you will be impressed.

I've fitted 6" Infinity's, but I had to adapt them abit. 5 1/4" will probably fit fine.

Did they 5 1/4 go straight in? Did the 6"'s go in with only minor mods? I dont want to be cutting the door about.

Many thanks

infinitys are nice very good quality sound, just dont like being pushed which is fine if your not gonna push them! not sure what size they are, pretty sure u can get a 6.5" in easily which will sound so much better than a 5 1/4" i personally wouldn't bother with 5 1/4's. easiest way is if they are 5 1/4's is to make an mdf spacer ring and just paint it black so u cant see it, this will also give u the depth required, rather than restricting what speakers u go for, as not many are shallow. hope this helps.

What I ment by adapt was I had to make an MDF ring between the 6" speaker and the plastic mould because the fixing holes for the speaker don't line up with the hole in the plastic mould. All this fits behind the door card hidden away.
The 5 1/4" wont need the MDF ring
