Today whilst I had sod all to do I went to my local Jag dealer and had a go in the new X type.......Impressed.........VERY 4 wheel drive and a very punchy 3 litre 6 cylinder engine and the power I must say was very good, a beautiful 5 speed manual box with very smooth changes........Look out Jag I might just have one.

and cheaper too
wouldn't fancy a 2nd hand one with iffy electronics after a few years & out of warranty though - bet the haynes manual doesn't cover fibre optics & sat nav repairs
went to IMechE lecture on one - very nice but scoob first methinks

Never driven one, but used to have a Mondeo ST24 (on which it's based) and that was a very good car indeed. On paper, the X-Type looks very tempting. Add twin turbos off a Noble, 400 bhp and tweaked suspension...

My other half has just taken delivery of an X-Type. The 3 litre a very nice car, but not cheap once you add in some of the options.
however, when it comes to performance and handling it just doesn't compare to the Scooby. But if you want a good motorway cruiser to pose in then the X-Type is definately worth considering.
