hi there, ive got a de-cat/induction kit/boost valve and thats it on my 94 wrx! i want to make her faster, woz gonna buy a scooby ecu when i seen em about a year ago but havent seen them since!.......so heres what ive found....

ESC IMPREZA ECU UPGRADE BOARD V 1.0 and this is for pre 1996 only, it plugs into the origanal ecu! there saying it should give it a boost of 30-40 BHP and say they have fitted em in numorous early wrx with no complaints

so one of you guys must have one in your scoob?.,....what are they like? thanks in advance!

theres a group buy for scooby ecus at the moment - http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=513866

i got a subachip from scott taylor off ebay recently which is another option, i paid £250. you definately feel the difference with this chip - it raised my boost from just below 12psi to just over 16psi, plus a load of other stuff. scotts was very helpful and informative and answered all my questions so is a good guy to deal with.

I had a power run at well lane before fitting and my car was putting out 254bhp & 220lbs - thats with full decat & pipercross panel filter. i wouldnt go there again though as didnt like the atmosphere. going to go to scoobyclinic next time just to see out of curiosity as what figures its producing now.

theres also www.scoobyclinic.com/ that do scooby ecu remaps for £380 - i dont know if they supply the chip as well but if they do seems a good deal.

The £380 is for the chip and fitting, you then need it rolling roaded and that is £75pph, you will need to allow around 2hrs.

All in that's £530, not far Apexi Powerfc money !

cheerz mate,...what year wrx is yours? did u fit the chip yourself?.......do u reckon its possible to get the esl upgrade plus one of these super ships? ta.....and you might find that if you take it to another rolling road you might get a completley different read out ...

i have a 95 uk series mcrae. if you open up your ecu case in the passenger footwell, there was a spare empty ic socket that i just plugged the ic chip scott sent me into on my ecu - see pic below (very easy to fit yourself), now im not sure if yours would be the same been an import. my ecu was a 7D, is yours a z4?

best bet would be to pm Scott.T and tell him the code number of the ecu you have and the specs of your car and he will tell you the options available and the best way forward.

with the esl and the subachip u can have only one fitted unless u had a 2 ic sockets connected together with a switch - but you wouldnt really need 2 different chips.
