Just seen the snooper radar thingy at the NEC for £260.
Are these radar things worth the dosh or not?
Comments please.
Oh yeah...............how tasty is the new M3 eh?
Am I pissed off with spending £34K on a P1 now or what! I love Subaru`s but which is the better value?

Arron,

What do you need a radar detector for ? You drive like a girl

I don't know much about the Snooper, but I do know that the latest Bell detectors are thought to be the dogs dangly bits. I don't use a detector at all, so couldn't really comment on any detector's effectiveness. I could go on what it says in mag reviews.

I didn't like the value of the P1 anyway. But when you can get an new M3 for that money (if you can get one) I know what I would rather have.

Of course, you could always trade the P1 in for an M3. Keep the car names short and you won't loose it in the car park

Cheers

Ian

I have also got the exact model, it is a waste of time unless you are looking for traffic lights and remote doors!!!!

I have heard that Bel products are the ones to have.

I got the 'alledged' top of the range snooper, and yeah, if you are worried about not seeing a traffic light or missing the oppertunity to smile as the GATSO goes flash, then get one.. otherwise, save the extra £200 quid for the Valentine1, well worth it...

As Ian said, Bell and Valentine detectors usually win the review tests. Snoopers usually come near the bottom of the list.

Cool

Hi Arron,

I have that exact model Snooper and it's a load of crap! Gatsos about 3metres if you're lucky then goes mad 20 yds past it! Spend the money on the Bell 980 or the valentine, or you could buy mine for £100 for decoration!!!!

Got the Bel 980, superb piece of kit.... Wanted a 990 until I found out the only difference was the 990 also has a band used on the continent.
Bought mine on the web from the states, all in it was about £260.
