The burble come from haveing a flat4 engine with unequal length headers, you should have some degree of burble. Do you have the twin pipe back box? Cangeing to a larger diametre single back box may help.

I'll vouch for the H&S!

Top quality and if you got for a full system and junk the cats you get an awesome noise from about 2500rpm all the way to 6000+!

You will not be disappointed!

A Blitz Nur Spec will be far too loud in a Wagon imo.

I have a Ninja on mine and it will give you the burble you want and it
growls like a demon at full boost.

I'm actually looking at selling mine for something quieter !!

Just the backbox.

Be aware, that a loud one might eb a novelty at first, but may become tiresome if you spend long periods on a motorway, or want a bit of peace and quiet when you're not playing. You're neighbours won't like it if you work/take the car out on unsociable hours either.

Personally, I think something like the H&S original Scooby design is about as loud as you want to go if you don't want things full on all the time. Remember, if you upgrade the other sections of the exhaust later, the noise increases. So, an Afterburner will probably be great when you've got just the backbox, but might be too much if you then decat the centre section and/or downpipe.

Right, decided i want just a back box, looking on www.scoobyworld.co.uk theres 3 different options.

1)Afterburner Vortex - £249
2)Ninja - £225
3)Blitz - Unclear

I was under the impression that the Ninja was the louder of the 3 but after reading this and other forums they are all loud.

Not after performance, just after some noise. Which is the loudest and the quietest?

Best bet IMO is attend a meet or something (one of the Jap shows?) and nose around some classics... I'm sure a proud owner somewhere will be happy to give it a tickle for you

After all, it's just a matter of taste and you see a LOT of people on here moving from one of the above exhausts to another.

My opinion is that if you get a sleeved turbo back 3" Mongoose and have the centre box and resonator cut and welded out for £30 by local metalworker, you'll be able to wake the dead, but that's just me

The backbox on the impreza is MASSIVE and very good at its job.. A straight through back box will give you the noise your looking for.

The backbox is big but the exit is small and restrictive.
